From the health care with San Vittore thermal bath’s sulphurous
water, as also the Ancient Romans had done, to the "school without
walls", it is as much as this route proposes, taking advantage also
to visit the Frasassi Caves and the Archaeological Speleological
museum, a new one.
Not secondary the Predicatore Mountain Path, between centuries old
pinewoods, become today a kind of green area of conifers, well known
for its history and the breathing balsamic air, that diminishes
toward Fossi Lake, a meetig place for the itinerant tourism, full of
aquatic fauna and wild duck.
The green Valleremita hall
The
Green Valleremita Hall, it is supplied with workshop and
Naturalistic Museum and with an equipped didactic way that develops
inside the Valdisasso wood. The hall presents, in the space of just
a kilometer and half (from an altitude of 420 m. climbed up to about
600 m. above sea level), different kinds of vegetation: from the
hornbeam and flowering ash wood, at the beginning of the way, to the
beech and centuries old trees wood, near the Hermitage, to the wood
of ilex, a typical Mediterranean scrub tree, that takes root at the
highest altitudes on the rocky coast of Rogedano Mountain.
The exposure of the pouring and the morphology of the valley, make
the place particularly interesting. Its natural richies was an
inspiration source, sometime fantastic, sometime brilliantly real
for Gentile da Fabriano works, where often appear landscapes, his
origin earth flora and fauna.
At an altitude of 600 m the path meets Santa Maria di Valdisasso’s
Hermitage where at the beginning of the XIII century San Francesco
stayed. For the hermitage, after 1405, Chiavello Chiavelli,
Fabriano’s Lord, commissioned to the painter Gentile the “Polittico
di Valleremita” representing the Virgin Mary Coronation. Nowadays
the work is in Brera’s Gallery in Milan but a copy of the
masterpiece decorates the ancient Hermitage’s church that is
preserved by Francescani Minori Community.
San Vittore thermal bath
The
termal bath, placed at the entrance of Frasassi Caves, few meters
from the millenary San Vittore delle Chiuse Abbey, in which coenoby
has been realized recently the Archaeological Speleological Museum,
have very ancient origins. In the termal bath are practised inhaling
care, rhinogenous deafness, balneotheray, mud bath treatment, balneo-mud
bath treatment, massotherapy, and thermal aesthetics treatment. In
the tour of the establishment, on request, is possible interviewing
the guests to study their origin, the benefits of the cares, the
average stay and so on respecting a standard model or according to
the school’s plan of studies. |
