Travel from the prehistory
to the imperial age

Entering the valley of the Cesano between green hills one runs into an ancient Roman town going up again further on 2000 years ago.
It was born the "Roman Town of Suasa Archaeological Park" with a Patrician Domus, a big amphitheatre and a commercial hole, after years of excavations. Unique discoveries which still show an alive history that now it’s possible to admirie and to study with the help of finds in the Castelleone of Suasa Museum. Continuing at the time of Arcevia (the ancient Roccacontrada) the route it allows to penetrate the prehistoric age-remarkable the finds coming from Ponte di Pietra and from the famous Connelle’s defensive ditch (Arcevia museum)-to arrive to splendid testimonies of the Gallic Civilization (Montefortino materials). At last, the Roman Age is represented by the monumental remains of Sentino, the Roman town so famous because in these places the homonymous battle was developed (295 B.C.). The battle itself allowed to Romans to gain the Ager Gallicus and mark the decline of the Picena Civilization.
